CIC ASIA AND SINA SPORTS ESTABLISH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

CIC Asia and Sina Sports have established an strategic partnership to help athletes, football federations and clubs of Latin cultures to open their Weibo profiles.


The parties agreed to jointly offer Weibo account management for athletes, football federations and football clubs. This service includes clients’ content repost in all relevant Sina Sports accounts, as well as combined efforts to attract potential sponsors. Sina Sports grants CIC Asia exclusivity to negotiate with official football federations in Latin America, including the regional football associations.


“This partnership puts us in a fantastic position to help Latin American football stars and football federations connect with their Chinese fans base”, said Nicolas Santo, CIC Asia Managing Director for China-Latin America operations. “We are very confident that this partnership will let us develop a new, profitable business line, as no one else in China’s sports industry match our resources, said Sam Li, Sina Sports Head of Content Acquisitions.


The parties are already preparing the launch of the Weibo account of a global top 5 striker. “Soon you will hear great news from us”, Mr. Santo said.


The agreement signing ceremony took place at Sina Weibo headquarter in Beijing.
